March April soon will be the third year in a row in New York City during the Festival. I decided to stay another year or three weeks (elastic) and they travel in the mountains for a few days.

Because alley to Newark. And fly only on the area where built Pennsylvania-New York.

I mention can't rent a car (18) and have accommodation equipment (tent, shcsh) and I have to finish every day/cabin/hotel/motel all. Initially thought to choose Park and stroll a few days a different route every day, but I see it's almost impossible. Therefore I would like to take part of any Bill in the region and how to daily walk as having no place to stay.

If one of the users who marched the AT or any other trail can provide me information or anything about specific sections for this.

Thank you

March-April in the Appalachian mountains, in the womb, New York area, cold and snow and have a tent and that don't always find at shlterim. It's hard to go off-road without equipment.

There is no any other trail in the East? Or any thing for (even 3 days) since they can do despite the limitations?

I believe and hope you can get something just hate to miss.

I think you can definitely do the apalch in the New York area Pennsylvania this time with minimum expenses for equipment ($ 200), if you buy the equipment at CAMPMOR. The physical store is in New Jersey and you can reach it by bus if you land in Newark, or you can buy their equipment on the Internet so that he could send to relatives/mailbox and waiting for you.   All you really need is that (I'd go for 20 f) Bill, which is critical in any cheap mattress casing (you can buy a good one at campmor at 45) and instead you can use the tent flap (TARP) as a backup because at this time of year are guaranteed almost certainly full of amhasot along the path will be almost completely empty except for maybe the weekend and then have a place.

And don't let anyone scare you to walk there in the off-season. The thing you want to do between New York and Pennsylvania is one (though it doesn't sound intuitive) hot hot if not for even more southern parts.   The reason is that the best thing for a less than 1500 feet while southern bktaim you reach the altitude of 4000 feet. Lack of bread there say it is unlikely that there would be snow or snow, it melts within a day or two, and in the meantime you can take beautiful pictures. I've been on this for almost every season of the year, and I think that the period of March-April is ideal (except maybe autumn, but enjoy the longer days).   If you are looking to travel for a week see HARRIMAN STATE PARK is about an hour by public transportation from New York, passing apalch and you can get a lot of side trails you can connect (in case you have less, but Tharp work fine this time because there is still no mosquitoes). You can even take the bus campmor to the edge of the Park and go to apalch.
If you want I can give you a list of places on the apalch in this area can be accessed by public transport.

Really thanks!

Sow some hope on this trip, I will continue to search for information on this (it's not the bear the famous mt all nioiorkerim go on weekends?), if I'm going to be without, in the Park are arranged to sleep like a motel address?

If you can send me more places in the area for the accessible to buses that would be great.

BEAR MT within the Park. Is very popular because it is accessible by car, as opposed to most parts of the park that require.

Here's a link to information about the public transport http://www.appalachiantr...cf/%7BB8A229E6-1CDC-41B7 apalch-2D5911950E45% 7 d-A615/AT% 20Shuttle% 208-17-10.pdf% 20WEB% 20List

And excellent online directory of the path (very highly recommended reading)

To find out where there is public transportation you can use Google maps for example:
Http://maps.google.com/maps? f = d&source = & saddr = s_d Are + Bus + Port + Terminal + New + York + NY, + United + States daddr = & 41.113503; hl = en & 74.154968 geocode = & FcDmbQIdr _-W-yEaFcg9G7ptjQ% 3B mra = dme & & mrcr = 0 & mrsp = 1 & sz = 10 dirflg = & r&ttype = & date dep = 11% 2F10% 2F17 & 7:26pm & noexp = time = 0 & noal = 0 & sort = & 41.134193 73.953094 sll =-0.581289 1.234589 & sspn = ie = UTF8, & & z = 10 start = 0 &

There are plenty of places you can reach hariman bus or commuter rail and an hour or less. You can use Assembly map
Http://www.mta.info/mnr/html/mnrmap.htm

You have five months to investigate.
Good luck....

And about the question. The only hotel in hariman himself is a BEAR MT INN that he really really expensive last time I was there two years ago was closed for renovations.   Anyway, you can't rely on hotels that hotels are where the highways, where there are no roads and trails good.   And again, at a price that will cost you three or four nights in a hotel, you can easily buy the equipment that you can travel with him and hariman can bring him down when you're done, and save yourself all that excess amounts in the country requiring equipment shops.
If you don't have an option to rent a car, relying on its feet and to explore hotels just isn't realistic.

Just check the Google sit CAMPMOR, PARAMUS You can find this store also map of Harriman, and take away bus to SUFFERN and thence 40 km walk in the Park take you to BEAR Mt.

That's what they told me at TRAILFORUMS

How fast do you hike? 10 days can be anywhere from 70 miles to 300 miles. Pawling to Port is somewhere in the middle along with mileage wise. Take a train from NYC to Pawling, catch a bus from Port 4. Clinto to Philly and catch a train back to NYC

Don't know who gave you the tip, but I don't remember the exact distance, it sounds much, much more than you can expect someone to do. EXTENSION .DWR much more reasonable, but I still think it's better because there's more hariman options to end earlier (there is no public transport near the trail in New Jersey if Arad decides to shorten).
