Hi there,

I'm new here.
First of all I wanted to say thanks for the excellent and useful tips in this forum!

I plan to go to Barcelona at the end of May and thought to be the first week of June to trek in the Pyrenees.
From what I read so far I understand this season very borderline in terms of snow in the mountain passes.
I was in good shape but no experience or equipment for serious hiking in the snow.
I would love to know if it's really problematic or there's trekking in the Pyrenees for this season.

Hi Dan,

It sounds like you want to enjoy a week in a beautiful area.
Select one of the prinas areas, there has a topographic map with trail markers. Get going and look at the situation. If you come to the snowy mountain you beyond your level, or on low back for more.

I don't think that in order to enjoy the great outdoors in this wonderful region need to invest in special equipment or acquire skills.

The number of long options in this area. You don't always have to go for the ridgeline.
You will be amazed of the trails in this region have
Focus on a specific area and run a search on the Internet.
I liked especially, the area of high prinas
Haute pyrenees, ariis.

This is also the long chain from East to West.
You can walk to many places and snow relatively low.

I recommend not Saint Aniol high, but green, beautiful and relatively close to Barcelona.
