I talked with Tal, and realized her project with Israel trail mapping with GPS and more important than before, and will be judged as a great solution for people who cannot afford buying a GPS or maps.

I probably will for the next few months, which will give the opportunity to map the path with GPS.  Now the trick is to find a GPS that we can map out the path.

Anyone have a GPS that you can borrow for three months to good use?

From what I can gather GPS batteries tend to drain water if used in a situation where they take ITM every few minutes.  Anybody have any idea how long GPS should hold between batteries replacement/claim?  There is a difference between Marine GPS?  And what about his argument with portable solar panel? Is it possible?

I was lent,
If I myself ask the GPS as I use it.
While GPS batteries varies dramatically from one device to another, averaging between 8-24 in full condition.
The claim using the solar panel sounds good but not practical-so that you have a Board is visible most of the day as when you walk, and the Sun, to charge AA batteries. Rather just buy a set of batteries every few days or arrange nickel metal batteries are rechargeable.

If I say I'm taking GPS to PCT so I buy one and give it food (including solar charger).

Just think it will take me at least two weeks until I asgr about it which means I believe in the next three weeks almost no situation. Anyway, I'll try to make the necessary inquiries to me (to get "digital trail") and will update you as soon as I have any answers.

Now when I discovered some real idiots GPS batteries I'm beginning to think that he's really not a substitute for maps on the PCT.  Have an average of five days between the various tispok, which means you need to take spare batteries.  Anyway, what do you do when you get to the crossroads-pathways A large part of the nodes on unmarked trails PCT, especially when no official trails. Although the fabric can guess the right direction according to the sense or by following the traces of people in front of you, GPS don't really help you. If you need to leave the path — for example hangs in a lightning storm and you need to find shelter under the tree line, you really need the maps.  If you take the maps really is no use in GPS.

And in another subject.  It could be that someone wrote on the Forum that some GPS company actually liked getting the coordinates for Israel? They might be the solution to finding a suitable device. Anyone remember something about it?

Rooney, the batteries he claimed solar (Sun). Weighs about 150 grams.

If I go to PCT with GPS that includes all topographic maps of the trail and area. My problem is not that maps already checked and enabled. My problem is with a book tell me when your nearest water source, which services has immediate problems etc. If I find something like that so I take digital GPS.

What to do in September in Washington when you may not see the Sun for a week or more? When it's raining where you normally go. (Yes, I suppose you would you take lithium disposable batteries as backup).

A little different attitude. To the PCT has the best guides for any directory path reading. Maps, descriptions and water. Almost every twist, the smallest on the map, and the price reasonable enough so that most people tear them up and throw away the parts you already have.

Of course you know about the path of the Yogi, who was supposed to be really good.  About water sources have a lecture on KICKOFF (I guess you go there) and give you the really critical information which is where water caches.

Just to have something to ponder it in the coming week I will mention the need to scrounge GPS to map the Israel trail. So far I haven't found a suitable solution.

Palm GPS. Also GPS and maps (maps software such as Turbo, etc.).

After all, it's a computer so the software can add water tips etc., Zionist

And even as text files with the story line, Bill number etc etc.

(A Solitaire bored and burning an extra batteries.)
