Lycian way (Turkish: Likya yolu) is that the trail 540 km in length along the southern coast of Turkey.

The trail begins in the town of Fethiye Oludeniz near the city and continues to the town of Hisarcandir, about 20 km from the city of Antalya.
The trail called "Lycian way" because it runs through the territory of the historic Lycian

The trail was opened in 1999 and is the longest trail and marked the first in Turkey.

The path initiated and executed a British citizen named Kate (Cate Clow) cloau, who wrote the book for (Fourth Edition now available from June 2014) and continues to maintain it.
The trail is marked with red stripes GR European standards and controls throughout the green-yellow signs.
The trail ranges in parallel and near to the beach, except for a few places away from the shoreline to a distance of 10-15 km.
The trail is mostly low and exceeds 1000 meters high only in three places, making it attractive for walking in April-May and October-November. During the summer months, July and August to the end of September, for too hot to walk and go continuously during this period only the high parts or go early in the morning and evening. Despite relatively low height of, it is considered quite difficult for walking because of multiple slopes and rocky terrain. The western part, near Antalya, harder. The trail is divided into 29 parts book and planned accordingly for 29 days. From hotrel can plan it by 20 days.
Accommodation along the way in country, pensions and hotels cheap accommodation price significantly relative to prices in Europe. Who prefers to travel with a tent will find plenty of places to sleep every day.

Getting to the trailhead and back.
Since the trail begins and ends near Fethiye Antalya, wouldn't it be best to fly to the airport of dalaman (Dalaman) as far as 60 miles from the trailhead and returned to Tel Aviv from the airport of Antalya. There are two Turkish companies run from Tel Aviv to Turkey through Istanbul destinations. Main company Turkish Airlines and the second largest is Pegasus Airlines. Purchasing a one-way ticket from dalaman to Istanbul way (no direct flights to dalaman) and a one-way ticket from Antalya to Tel Aviv through Istanbul (total of 4 flights because of concussion) could be very cheap if you buy her a few months ago. It can get even less than $ 300. Pegasus company usually cheaper from Turkish Airlines. You have to remember that the season walking the Lycian way is low season flight (May and October) and therefore you can find. For example, a Pegasus ticket to dalaman in late September 2014 costing 120 euros monthly who invites. It also cost the flight from Antalya in October so the price is € 240 per flight. The price does not include food and a seat are welcome, but a load of 20 kg.

Turkish currency rate as of May 31, 2016

The Turkish currency is Turkish Lira and Turkish Liras equals 100 $, € 34, $ 130 (€ 100 = $ 100 = 293 334 TRY, TRY)

Cover, and animals along the route

It is a marine transport route mostly near the waterfront so that most days there are tall sea observations and walking on the beaches. The general feeling is that for job of rolls from the biblical view. The route between many olive trees and water wells. Most of the time are in a rural area of sheep and cattle and encounter with the shepherds on a daily basis.

Tips and story focus October 2014 shows: In the following link

The information below was written in 2010 by Aryeh Ben Porat.
The track is amazing, a very diverse views and nature trails, is difficult but rewarding. The logistics for very comfortable with high availability of water in relation to Israel, of course, food and accommodation – you can do it without camping ground. There are sections of the walk along the beach and the mountain heights of entering 1500-1800 m, in sections of the beach it's a 400-700 m altitude, some small but irritating through prickly vegetation. The trail is mostly marked well and but not places!, you can also screw hours therefore required to get back on track with the book and map of Kate * available for purchase on the website to make another map lamination is torn.

Getting back to my:

Regular flight to Istanbul and from there connect to dalaman from there shuttle *** booked over the Internet, no buses, Ovac?k (אובז'יק) the trailhead just off towards old settlement Denise Back from the Hisar?and?r route (isarch), auto-stop, in Antalya.

Recommendation:

  • Learn at least basic Turkish numbers, greetings, greetings and words of every day.
  • To follow the route in April and still more beautiful blooms but if higher chances of rain-the value accordingly.
  • If you plan to sleep in pensions in particular, can not take a cooking stove always light a little fire just carefully!
  • Balon unable to get on track in the nzinia appropriate solution but only available to very large communities.
  • Take a minimum weight, consider all item and not for a total 10 kg without food and water, the route request.
  • Using ignorance and wells required to use purifying tablets and sometimes no need filter almost buy water faucets always ask about quality, potable water mosque in need, I wish חבל"ז springs in the country.
  • Before entering the mountain trails to make weather.
  • In may, enough miles, summer
  • Some cellular almost everywhere.
  • In a rural homestay duty c.
  • Currency money in pensions give fair gate before a very small sum in the field, no router to convert a dime, Rob!!

Because when I looked I couldn't find information a lot and because I promised tips, I write a little bit about a week spent on the Lycian way in Turkey.

Amazing way, not too hard, very easy to get around to it, all the people we met very hospitable in ways I didn't get to experience them, cheap and so close to our House! Really recommended.

Sorry, we had only one week to do after this week we decided unanimously that that wasn't enough and started to plan our next trip there, that's very nice big move week weeks on the trail, but I recommend to do it all (500 km)

Most days we got up at 5 a.m. and started to go all that way until 11-12 for a long lunch break sometimes lasted even until 5 (!!!), you could say we were lazy but it was hot hot hot in the afternoon with some days are really maximized! And so I would say the perfect season to arrive is April May (we got in early June) may be a bit chilly for a swim but walks will be pleasant and comfortable.

We started from our fethiye to arrive within an hour drive from dalaman airport, then take dolouse to olu deniz resort (whoever crypto paragliding there worth a stop) and stop at the beginning of the Lycian way.

Did one day charming villages to the village of faralya there went also to Butterfly Valley-if you get there, do yourself a favor-f-k-z and leave your bags! But the place is adorable!

Monday reached kabak village and a couple of hours in a secluded beach swimming and beautiful.

On the third day after half a day's walk to the village of bogazici decided there's so much to see and not long so we filled with rides (if you don't have a problem with this way to get hitched there because everyone stop and they really are nice, unless it just because we were two girls alone =) wants to believe that because of this) and the beach of patara site some more famous and touristy but worth a visit.

He later moved to karaoz there a day or two walk through a short lighthouse.

Away as well covered and cirali Beach Beach Village Olympos famous name of the passed days more relaxed.

We were very personal-there is a haschnity in the area every night and cooking food, but if you don't want to know about cookware and things to get fun night every day which lodge or village where you can stay and have dinner and breakfast (very inexpensive).

The book and the map quite necessary but also the ground pretty good.

Really new edition out of Kate's claw (אפריל09) recommended to buy him (her website out I think the cheapest).

Anyone interested in more information I would love to help at user "Tal Tal" or email elmaliachtal@gmail.com

And really worth to go there!

Sounds good, and other numbers are the same. And how the markup for the maintenance? Before we heard about maintenance, vegetation on the trail, deleted etc. Is it possible to go the path without a tent and sleeping equipment?

And St. Paul heard. Another trail of Kate.

Me scared before I went, but the markup was good, if less then local helpers.

Possible places they really bad but I recently did some work, occasionally volunteers have renewed.

Kate's site has updates constantly renew the State for worth a peek before hitting the road.

We hiked without a tent, just a mile and a major (though not really need) and matching was too hot.

Highly recommended to come with mosquito net, unfortunately we didn't!

I heard about St. Paul and is definitely on the list for the near future, it may seem contrary to Lycian way I do in the summer because it is a little climb to altitude while the alicit going on the beach most of the time zone.

A personal message from Kate cloau

Hello to everyone and hope you are company enjoying summer

As you may have seen on the website, the new Lycian Way book and improved map is out, the site is updated (update page and accommodation) and the route has been nearly completely re-waymarked. Not a bad few months ' work! Thanks to all those who helped, including George, our map-maker, Serhan, our webmaster, the Metin stones, our printer, ?zkan and Ersin at Ka?, Jane, Deniz from Middle Earth and the pension field owners group who accommodated and fed us. Next year, a version of the book will at last appear in Turkish. People who have walked the way since the re-waymarking tell me that it's so easy to follow the waymarks – they don't need the book. That wasn't quite what I had in t mind

Meanwhile, the St Paul Trail has been neglected. However, the local authorities have begun to show an interests in the trail, and a promise to help us improve the accommodation along the route. The mayor of enthusiastic Sucullu has re-marked the northern part of the route. Archaeologists are now working at Antioch in Pisidia, which adds to the interests of the site. Next year we will be re-waymarking the rest of the trail and I shall ask for volunteers to help welcome

I'm now in the Complete doing a bit of walking, and clearing path, finding new media and talking to people. I've also found time for the local festivals, including the two-day one at Hotel Barhal &. The languages included wrestling festival – the local team as an invited team from Georgia and Georgian folk dancing club spectacular, as well groups of local people in colourful holiday barbecues and skewers must eating from the horon dancing club, and singing.  The Turkish's bullfighting on the second day was new to me-I hadn ' t realised that the placid huge bulls have to be taught to fight. The younger, smaller ones are coaxed into progressively closer on their opponents, and some quickly turn tail and run! So the crowd has to run too! The more experienced in ones know what heavyweight, is expected from them and use brute force to push their opponents out of the ring. All in all, a great time and a lovely welcoming atmosphere in which foreigners didn't feel out of place

Finally, if anyone is interested in buying a house near Hotel Barhal & in the Complete, one is available for quick sale. It's a modern building on three floors each of about 100 square metres each. It's about 5 years old and not quite finished, but with a bit of work could be very attractive. The land is about 1000 square metres of garden, edged by the hotel Barhal & river and reached by a bridge. It's rare than any house is available in this area, so this could be an opportunity to be part of this community. One option would be for several people to buy a share. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll co-ordinate with the owner

Finally, I've been told that pirated photocopies of books and maps are being circulated, including full size photocopies of the Complete map. Please don't use this easy way of avoiding the costs of maintaining tracks to and self-supporting import the media. My friends, trekking guides and I spend time and effort not only creating and repairing the media but also local people to open encoraging pensions and provide services. I only have income from book sales to support this work. Photocopying is stealing from local people; Please don't do it

All the best of summer walking

Kate Clow

Lycian way-YULO LICIAN

13.0-30.9.2009
10 days of happiness-round two

In General, what is important to know that you can do the Lycian way pretty easily without number, and here we got downtown Fethiye enough, plus some tips collected from travellers on the road, which we will detail here.
The area is very comfortable and you can trip planned so that accommodation would be a night hostel. You might want to consider reservations at the hostel to book accommodation as unexpected teams arrive.
The prices of camping/lodges ranging from 20-30 to shoot with in the morning when the villages also included dinner.
Almost all services are price of 2.5 liras per person, travelling over half an hour, twice the price.

Day 1-
Our journey started in Antalya, unlike most people who depart from Istanbul that allows more flexible flight dates, we were able to convince the company of our flight (for a not very symbolic) fly to 10 days.
At the airport in Antalya (after silver at the gate were particularly shocking) took a public bus, just 1.5 that came just to shoot ל"אוטוגר"-the bus and jumped almost immediately into town from Fethiye within 4 hours from Antalya. The trip cost us 18 to shoot and about 11 pm we reached town. From the bus station to the hostel relatively short way, 7-8 minutes and minute taxi ride costs 15 pounds. We arrived at the hostel accommodation IDEAL PENSION cost $ 40 for a room including breakfast.

Day 2-we started our search around Fethiye after the infamous School of Kate Clow "Lycian way", but because of Ramadan, the only store you can purchase the school was closed and the informiion did not give enough detailed map. In choice bought Czech map postcard stand near the informiion and gas exploration to either a hotplate has not yielded the results we decided to exploit the rest of the day and went to SAKLIKANT sklicant that's awesome Mall, slashing water people. Take a dolmu? station and about an hour and a half later. It is a water route, which is 18 miles, but because the return is her way of selecting your hands some to go. Need shoes, that go there barefoot it hurts (we tried). We track hours only because we have to make the final at 18:30.
The night we spent in Oludeniz camping rather than ovshik (Ovacik) as planned because the prices there were lodges and not know where to give us information on the Lycian way. Also the price was comparatively expensive but there weren't too many options.

3-day acamping went about 10 minutes by foot to the city part, where ohtzteidno food. Lunch. Over the next three days we can not store bringing her food, so various snacks to buy here, and if the owners are itziido you a nice lemon bread and vegetables. We took part in a dolmu? to the trailhead is a 5-minute drive away, and asked the driver drops us beside PINE RESORT HOTEL where there is a large sign that declares the trailhead and red and white markings.
This part of the route is about 12 km and approximately 6.5 hours (with long breaks in places worth) track starts with an increase of two and a half hours each along with an amazing view of Oludeniz. At the top of the hill we found what looks like an abandoned village hostel. We went to the courtyard where we saw a wonderful terrace overlooking the Valley of butterflies, Pergola shmalino vine and grapes are sweet! We continued on our way as fourth graduating and left Buzz Bee among flowers and many, even the mooneeeee bees, but also tolerant although some annoying, half an hour later we arrived in tap water Milan my name kvukino and sat to eat pomegranates right from the tree. This was the first point where the split was unclear, our general direction was right and down and it was the right way. Map it most of the way on to the village of Kirme then begins declining it takes 2 hours to prleia, in this village were waiting for us more surprises in addition to pomegranate trees and vines we also found raspberry and sweet figs! In Paralia spent the night in the House, first aid, arrived just at sunset for dinner and a cold shower that came in a group of British people didn't leave. Accommodation in superior room 30 fire, tent (they deliver) 10 a person, including dinner and breakfast.

Day 4 – George offered us bread and vegetables not very pleased, and we go our way on foot to the village Beck (BECK). It took about two hours to walk split: way down leads on the back the other way leads on to our destination-אלינג'ה village (ALINCA). From splitting until the village took us about 3 hours on it most of the way, but not too hard. And at one point even check way misleading: splitting, after a pilgrimage going about 20 minutes on the hillside (no cost and falling) and where should cross the River (fail) on the left side there is a big white boulders not confused shouldn't cost them but actually go straight, easy to miss that there continue to exist, but once you find it you'll see the marking followed by a sustained increase that begins halfway way up tap water wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Ballinger offered us to stay with her family and refused politely, the wrong decision! Instead at the Hiram (BYRAM), nice guy. Also here we group of Americans and the tree were occupied and stood us two options to sleep on the roof of biram in SEC (September shbachodsh a little cold) rate, or sleep in Hostal _____ _____ lied.

5.
Biram did not offer us anything we take lunch. rather than any grocery store in the area. And we speedily determined not to run into the next night with a group of Americans were so rushed and so we were off. After two hours on the road, we reached the village of gay (GEY) there met Habib mcholato familiar indicated that you can stock up on snacks, cold drinks and food in General is gay ? continued two hours-until the town bell. With entrance to town enjoying childhood accosted a couple for us and after a short conversation that mostly hand signals are bride took us to the girl who offered us to stay with her and agreed. The House seemed like a hostel under construction, the hosts were quite friendly and we had to sleep in the bed.

Day 6: after three days of tour that overlook the coast decided to diversify and drove a school bus, which is the only one outside the village Belle, who comes every day at 7 a.m., to a small town and another town and another one, and only the fourth minibus brought us to our destination-PATARA BEACH. Nice place, quiet and calm that is primarily populated with retirees. There at saint Nickolas, really nice place also provides and sea shuttle back, but the restaurant was really falling. We spent the day at the beach.

Day 7 – left the hostel equipment and drove a minibus to klken (KALKAN) travel cost 5.00 per person. And we went on ackbal. We found the way and we started downhill trek back to Petra. After about an hour and a half walk has split: right the way around the mountain leader and left the road overlooking the coast. We chose left and began walking on a dirt road, the road was so clearly forgot to look for the red and white marks and soon lost them altogether and already was too late. We continued with the dirt road uphill until we reached the summer homes of Europeans was quite deserted. After an hour and a half to walk more we return to the familiar road signs leading us across the ridge overlooking the beach where we spent yesterday. We found our way back to the hostel, we took our gear and drove to cash (KAS). The cash spent the night in a hostel which was praised highly for his company, and the suggested barbecue hostel (price-25 shooting with a 12 morning shoot.)

Day 8 after inquiries with guests at the hostel, we decided not to join the tour to kekova, sagging town. People aren't thrilled, and wanted to spend the time or money (40 shooting) hence we caught the bus to Olympus. Olympus is very tourist town, and mostly young. It's kind of like the atmosphere. We met a lot of young company, mainly Australians. There is biiram Board where the price per night is 20 pounds and dorams in a wooden house is 25 quid per person with breakfast and a dinner. Was a good hostel atmosphere and was pleasant and delicious there. Today we spent the day at sea and ancient ruins of catching passed worth.
Important Tip: you can buy a great weekly 5 shoot a one-time costs available 3.

Day 9: after a hearty breakfast we started walking towards the fire-resistant permanent, that natural gas from stone and fire burning there. To reach the chimera should go to the sea and the beach to the left and to the left and the red and white marks are taking more and more left towards ??ral?. When reaching tsirali you can identify on the left blue bridge, where you should turn right towards the dirt trail. Almost all the way on dirt road and convenient for those interested in cycling (rent). Cars also are there will get you a ride. At the entrance to pay 3 to shoot and cost approximately 10 minutes to arrive. The place is not so impressive, it's nice but not total something crazy, if you have time, it's worth checking out.

-10 and our flight was scheduled to depart at night from Antalya hostel, told us that we could stay. Dinner free of charge, although we don't sleep there tonight. It was very nice of them but unfortunately we promote hysteria is a little too big because the buses was a little limited. Take a dolmu? to the mountaintop and then bus to Antalya (8 a). Total from the hostel to Antalya lasted less than two hours. In the rest of autogr spent money that all airport scorecards, and again on the public bus and a half pound (Please note there is a significant difference between the terminals 1 and 2 so check before leaving the hostel what you need), we realized there are haotegr into the field until 10 p.m. And finally, we made our way back home.

Enjoy!
Daphne

In Turkey these days don't really positive news, but!! The track is amazing and highly recommended! Not easy but quite comfortable logistically.
The weather was a bit warm, it is worthwhile to perform in April too. A total of 19 days 22 days with full equipment.
We jump on one section of the walk because it was very.
And a map of Kate are mandatory equipment check problems at certain points. You can order it easily through the site of the trail (costs a little more than $ 100 including shipping).
I sit now on writing a summary and post it as soon as possible. If he needs any help about the track in its entirety or in part, please contact my email:
Benporat.arie@gmail.com

Thank you

A little update from the field:
I returned last Sunday from a week-long trek in the Lycian way
Landed in Antalya (no more flights to dalaman from Israel), then bus (approx. 4 hours) to fethiye, 38 lira and then a minibus to ovacik to begin.

Not marched with Kate's book because very difficult to find him in Turkey (Antalya fethiya tried again but without success). You can purchase it in the country through:

The way is marked between alinca to ovacik

From the alinca footpath right after gul, hotel on the right and then start declining. Note do not miss the mark.
From here on the runway a little less obvious markings faded-woody note better.

However, according to many opinions heard. There is no doubt that the section between ovacik for bell is a beautiful track.

The hike from gavuragli towards kas a little monotonous and mostly involves dull stroll among greenhouses.
* Please note that if you want to skip this part that not every village you can hitch a ride or taxi to the freeway because most villages are deserted. (Just off the main road you can take dolomus, another village point in orbit).

Another part is impressive and it is part of the olympus ciralli and adrasan direction.

Hope I helped a little.
Nice trip for everyone.

Noam, meant to encourage you to walk the Lycian way. I have a feeling this stitch for trail After you return, you can update the welcome message.

Tinkerbell. Thanks for the update. I installed the Israel flights to dalaman. Too bad they stopped flying there. This is probably related to the political situation.
Some raised the flights? And really, how about some pictures and a little about and prices?

Friends, not easily?

I just currently coordinates the story through Word file for convenience and go.

Ma.
1. very nice and courteous locals. HID not being Israelis, and everywhere we steadily from tumors and many locals wanting to help and conversation, even if some have difficulty with the English language. They have respect for the people who make you envy and admire.
True track passes through few Shia villages but never encountered hostility or anti-Israeli statements. On the contrary, everyone overwhelmingly is very frustrated with the political situation created and very sorry that the Israelis do not come.
2. food-Turkish food! Most of the food we ate he crops belonging to the villagers. Lots of honey, pomegranates, olives and cheeses.
Some culinary moments: of course the yogurt (you can mix some honey inside), g?zleme – a PITA in heaven ptrosila, pepper, cheese, olive oil and lots of all the tool (you can find all along for 3 quid), PIDE-similar to a calzone only open to fill with cheese or meat, juices, especially Pomegranate juice. Worth and recommended.

Amnon.
1. flights: Atlas Jet company Charter flying. The flight bought through vacation guides and costs $ 280.
We had to fly only for a week, so that the Charter flight.
Some highlights: Charter companies is not what it used to be. Flights depart on time.
The planes we flew were the service commitment in the surprisingly good.

2. accommodation: lodging ranges from 35-50 lira per person per night (we, the liachid may have a different price) price including dinner, breakfast and sideways.
Accommodation bungalows/ein Zimmer. 35 a double room with a shared bathroom and shower, a double room includes a toilet and shower in the room. All hot water showers for bathing!
We found it necessary to argue about the price anywhere (and probably some not) Although some way stories read. To us it seemed fair to pay such a price for such a great value.

The dinners vary from place to place: some meat (barbecue), and some vegetarian options (lentils, rice, soups, salads, etc.). Very satisfying!
Breakfast quite identify and include: tomatoes, cucumbers, olives in preparation, honey, cheeses, yoghurt and eggs.

For some reason the Mediterranean from this side seemed much more calm and blue.
I'm with you, Amnon. It's about time to promote the course among our visitors. After many challenging treks in the world (Pyrenees, Carpathian Mountains, Slovenia, via Alpina, Ethiopia) I can say with certainty that this tour can be done with low weight and walking for up to 7 hours per day, to reach Lair at sunset and eating well is a trip makes a lot.

Hello

And we are planning to go 5-6 days on the trail in early September.

Although September average is 25° c, I'm a little concerned about the weather and I would be happy if someone went up for a similar time relieves my fears.

In addition, we look forward to receiving recommendations from a good thing we should do.

Tinkerbell-and read the message and file your rose exists I'd appreciate it if you get it.

Thank you

I didn't go to many times, but I was in the area at the beginning of September.
This is hell!! Not created. Only from mid-September into October, the weather becomes friendly.
So true that the higher points temperature won't be so high, but for moving along pretty low
