I opened the French Guide and their times are calculated as follows:

300 m ascent = one hour.

450 m descent = one hour.

The rate on an average of about 4-1/2 mph.

Rate of 300 m uphill is quite slow in my opinion, IE an average gym owners and even less. 450 m descent is also not of a Hare.

What friends here including Alpine treks 500 m ascent wrote =.  I tend to agree with what another forum at one cost

I think if more than 500 m are physically fit.

Question: are the times set by the French Guide explained how Or is this a conservative estimate of.

On their rhythm.

Question about booking cabins three days in advance:

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the help that you give! I'm excited about the trip:)

We are three friends who start the course at 28.8 (c Greece against the clock) and going to sleep in every night.

We tried to order all the huts in advance but some require full payment in advance. We don't want to commit to leaving the option to change (to be free).

Recommendation we received subsequently-ordered the first three cabins in advance and then every night on the phone to book the cabin that is expected to be the third night after.

Is this a good plan? We will have a tent so that we know to handle duty at a cabin every night.

Do not be a problem for the following media?

Do you have a reservation for three days during this time of year we are assured we find a place to sleep every night?

We hope (and so on) have more cabins than they appear on the site-montourdumontblanc.com.

Thanks in advance;)

Try to call directly into the cabin and on the reservations.
Although the end of the season but you never know.
There are 3 options from overnight HOUCHES including mere contmin, then the venhom and then just Elizabeth

1. the decision is the right decision. Shouldn't be a problem with room in 3 days in advance and if yes then you can plan ahead and stop somewhere else.

2. always ask for call here to der hut are very friendly and communicate. But you have to have the phone numbers that they don't have.

3. to build up not huts on the site except your name choose whatever Cormier (Venice, very recommended)

4. There are several cabins that loaded regularly and are located in remote sites, where needs and ensuring early: venhom. If there are a bunch of Koreans are booming.

Hi everybody!
Last year almost went to TMB and finally unsuccessful weather gave.
This year I want to try to get back on track, the problem is that if this happens it will be in terms of late date.
So a question to anyone-step out in late September to early October (14.2-7.10) is something possible? Or cold longer? Anyone have any experiences from past years? Recommendation?
(Not found on the last page in thread relating to port in Sept-Oct)

Thank you!!

Not from personal experience (I'm going out there in 10 days) but from years of reading here in the Forum and guides in English and French.

Travel season ends in mid-September. Late September early October is not the time to travel in TMB.

The weather, the huts are closed at least a large part of the day and too short.

Hey. There are two things you need to make:

1. some of the huts are closed on September 15, and another part on September 30, 2009. To build the course to you. Whether with a tent, so it contained irrelevant.

2. weather. I'm less excited. Just dress warmer. But in early September last year ran into a Blizzard in 2000 and backed her. It's more how that stripes became impossible without equipment transitions.

Seems OK. The next phenomenon has many other coming in huts in the weekend (Saturday-Sunday). Already encountered there was somewhere to stay. So to find out. On the other hand if a cabin belongs to any Alpine Association (French/Italian/gosh sake) are committed to give you something to hide are memorizing makes (or experienced correct me if I'm wrong). Don't expect Sean in bed, but in the kitchen, but in the extreme case, it beats staying outside.

Weather forecast for Chamonix Mont-Blanc to the beginning of the next week does not change for several days.

On the first day of the walk will be rain in the afternoon. Basically all week didn't seem prudent in terms of weather.

The first day of planning from LES CONTAMINES PALUD to hike 8 hrs.

The short 4-5 hours each. I wonder if we should make as Greece and go walking

The short days at the beginning of the trip and hope for improvement in the weather.

What reviews are experienced?

Thank you Ma.

Check the weather for the upcoming weekend and look upon the situation.

Right now there's RAIN in the forecast, and that's quite different than SHOWERS.

Whether in CROIX DE BONHOMME private rooms

According to the guidebook can draw French there according to the site.

LAC BLANC: do they have a decent restaurant or food standard to TMB?

Remember 4-bed rooms if no pressure you can find yourself staying in a room.
Definitely a decent restaurant. What is standard for TMB? Each country and its food.

That's what I thought about. Thank you.

Food: not what I meant is there, but the standard of gourmet food, namely a standard.

According to the French, it's not really clear whether their restaurant.

The weather at the beginning of next week, and will not trade walking Greece.

From what I've seen on satellite maps it comes in one system is not worth being concerned about. All North Atlantic doesn't seem like something to worry about. In the coming week.
