Hi

I received the invitation to comment on the matter.

First name matter, of course, is that Greece, as a means to destroy lachrit.

Milky way E4 mentioned here is "outside Europe from moving throughout Crete. Furthermore, it also splits in some places two or three so you can choose the track easier or harder.

The map attached to the book is a map of 1:100.000 trail is marked, and the advantage is that I update the map, so the book.

In addition, there are number one with a description of the route, and also track performed by Israeli couple for four days in the mountains. In addition there is also a trail that descends North Cretan South to paleochora, charms and b denoted F1.

There is an Atlas 1:50.000 but it is very rare, and I'm one of the people holding him.

But of course you can receive assistance from the Cretan alpinistit information on accommodation in the various shelters in the mountains, which of course can be hosted but mostly no water for bathing.

Details of the Association can be found in the articles Forum of www/agenda.co.il/686

But it can certainly some risk and to be prepared for walking in the snow in some places.
I uploaded here back then 4 days trek through stories in the Pindus, and Olympus-3 days I traveled there in mid-June there was another little snow and weather daily hustle day basket.
Good luck

Hi Yoav

Eons ago (somewhere in the mid 90) me and my partner spent a few days in the mountains of Pindus (Zagori). This is a beautiful range. I recommend you get a copy of Lonely Planet's Trekking in Greece to get ideas.

If my memory is not misleading me, our route was about:

Konitsa-EOS prototype River South to mountain stage (very steep)-Drakolimni lake – Astraka hut – Vikos-Monodendri-Canyon-

* Arrival mileage start and relied on public transportation Janina.
* We took walks with a tent so that there is a hut and I have no idea how. The rest of the night, you can sleep in-cabin or monodendri
* Consider today from Konitsa to cabin has a very good fitness (the route is steep, rising approximately 1500 m and at least in 1996 was not marked at all well)

Another warning-the area aggressive herding dogs. Any book or website area reminds them. Beware of them (don't refer them back to flaunt a cane or sizes in between them). Best to avoid the meeting as much as possible.

Jonathan

The route that Jonathan suggested I recommend to do the opposite. Some go to the two up to micro papigo and astraka hut

Sounds awesome! I'm currently in Thessaloniki and Ioannina in direction I will start planning to go in the third. Some questions are ... You can do without tent Zagori And since I travel for a few months, I carry the bag weighs around 15-16 ק״ג without water and Sierra Nevada had me moments that reminded military difficulty? What level of difficulty of this track? And is it mtweir or relatively deserted? And again, many many thanks, Jason.

Assuming you're right, walk fit possible without a tent. Especially if you get the advice of collected and goes from monodendri to konica.

Medium difficulty level in my opinion (except on mountain haiaus I set it as hard, but you get it).

Of course you need to buy a map of Janina and look yourself to see the setting and you difficulty.

About overloaded when we hiked the area there was no mtweir (for individuals). Papingo villages and many tourists had of but not for trails.

Have fun! Jonathan

Hi all
My friend and I are planning a trip of two weeks in Greece (7 September 21).
We want during the period to do some trekking or two/three day.
The Forum dshdoshi (great by the way) I saw recommended trails are Vikos gorge and Olympus.
I wanted to know if recommended routes and other policy decisions. And if you have some more information on these routes (difficulty level, having to navigate, tales and view type), for that matter, the Olympus looks very impressive snowy periods, but it seems like in September is pretty.
Many thanks!

The track of Olympus quite easy to navigation pane and on the tourist circuit.

You can also Trek in the Pindus mountains or vicus cultures as specified.
You can start a nice route from micro, visit papingo regardless. There would definitely provide a map, but also the navigation name not very problematic (this of course depends on experience and subjective thing).

In September will be hard pressed to find snow (unless some local event is possible exception).

Another picture of Olympus in the snow (little Crest?):

Hey.

I wake concatenates two years ago in the hope that the information is still current.

Happy to help with a number of questions for which I didn't find an answer online in friendly:

-Where can I buy a map in Ioannina- (I couldn't find a bookstore near the city bus station)

-For the shack to konica (and on the map)?

-Afternoon buses from konica to Ioannina- (Greek transport company took the information and left telephone fee only)

Thank you!

On 25 March 6, my wife and I hiked in Zagoria region and would love to get a small donation to the site with information for we think is a very good option for Alpine Trek or break from routine and inexpensive.

Built Circuit

It is a trek of days to seven days in the Pindus mountain range which Zagori district in Northwest Greece. The most well-known Vikos gorge (Vikos gorge) but we think the other sections were equally attractive and fun.

Start your Trek virtually stopping point because most of the population are in the villages. It seems that the beginning is most comfortable ו"נכונה" the track is in Monodendri monodendri.

Some information on the Web about volcanoes can 25 WalkID? http://www.walkopedia.net/walks/display-walk.asp = http://www.great-adventures.com/destinations/greece/zagoria.html again

There is also a great number of friendly-The Mountains of Greece and a 1:50000 ANAVASI's.

In general the track has very often and with no way of story friendly to familiar to destiny was the high hills the previous navigation.

Beyond the diversity of and embroidery (link to pictures from the Trek), we were very pleased to discover not a busy route. Although it was the beginning of the season but for two days not met anyone except for one local (maanglit and our Greek figured out or Shepherd who lives with the sheep in the mountains or a player in Greece's national football team). In the villages you can find visitors don't make the Trek or very little cabin and day travellers meet travellers making the accommodation more comfortable but misses the encounter helps to transfer the rest to.

Dispute ה"קלאסי" track sections

To change the days 4 and 5 a day climb to the Summit of Astraka (Astraka Refuge is back in) and the very steep to Konitsa, but I don't have accurate data to specify.

Season

The official season is from mid-May to September 2014. shachorf was pretty weak, the cabin opened just in the last week of May and part of the trail was covered in ice so that it was possible to climb or descend to the konica. I think it's worth pointing to the beginning of the season to earn a baitzoma rash and ice peaks.

Getting there & away

County of Zagori and the essential starting point is called Ioannina Janina. Can be reached by plane from Athens (€ 150. with Aegean) or slvenki that takes about 50 minutes. There is a much more affordable option and much more long bus INTERCITY company out of two cities several times a day.

There are three options to get to one of the villages to start to walk:

  • The bus costs 3 euros and, probably, both Wednesday and Friday mornings from central station in Janina and her at noon the same day. Patently unreliable information and in Greek on the various buses can be found on the official website of the local company http://www.ktelioannina.gr/
  • Taxi – we found one taxi company's site on the Internet that responded to our email (www. Taxiioannina .com/(but they demanded EUR 50 we heard too much in retrospect, it appears that bachiposh in the city you can find a taxi in 30 or 40 euros to monodendri, back to iannia of the villages should not rely on a taxi unless suitability in advance
  • Transport from the hotel – part of the option would come to collect you Janina for 10 euros.

B

Generally speaking, relatively inexpensive accommodations and over 40 euros you can get a double room in b & b in villages and even hotels room.

Janina – city wide range of guesthouses and hotels and even camping (a five-minute walk north of the bus station)

Of the b & b we named & Elenis Konstantinou was very very nice and clean and warm

Micro Hotel – cheapest option is Dias Guesthouse was very nice.

The hut- hut is very nice, very clean and the staff that runs it speaks English fluently and was happy to help. However, it is not even showers and apparently not high level infrastructure that is not heated enough and unstable water supply.

Tslpovo – there are few guesthouses not checked that returned immediately in Janina.

Camping accommodation points each as Ioannina shmat no regulated and camping.

Equipment

Because all sections there are regulated, offering meals, there is no need to carry a tent and/or food for more than one day. Also, each day was at least one place during the day to water and therefore can handle 2 liters per person.

The Vikos gorge weather really steaming so bring clothes. However the area very cold so bring a full winter gear (including mantel backwards if you suffer from source).

You can buy the ANAVASI map of Janina and even saw her in monodendri and the book saw only in Athens.

SIM-SIM from VODAFONE gained Janina 6 Euro 500 MB surfing with barrel recorded in all the villages and most of the route.

Camping gear-Janina has a number of shops is limited but I wouldn't count on them in favor of gas cylinder screw or any quality equipment

We went with a total of 7 and 13 kg with no less than the weight of the heavier stemmed carried food each day (we do as savers)

From the context I assume you mean the Zagori.

You can check on http://www.ioannina-weather.gr/index.php?lang=en
