Hi there,

I want to plan a trip guys for desert.

Three days of walking, start and end points are accessible to public transportation, water refilling point and of course. Certainly not at the border with Egypt.

I was thinking something along the lines of mitzpe Ramon to SDE Boker.

Anyone know a course that meets the requirements?

Or can help with planning?

Thanks in advance

Between mitzpe Ramon SDE Boker to no points filling of water.

However, Ramon to Sapphire has two water wells and the huge parking lot of the Kuti Sandy back.

If you have a map of the area (needing 18 and 17), find parking at Wells (or Khan wells) on red dirt road fork from 40.

If you do not have maps, suggest you buy like this.

Exit to surface without maps is life threatening.

What shape are there water (tap/burying)?

And if you can trust it 100%? (We pretty much can't rely on people ג'יפאים)

Additional comments regarding the parking lot wells

1. the place of blast. People put tents around and everybody crowded like sardines.
2. the prices at a kiosk.
3. tap water at the entrance. This is the only tap all the Ramon crater.
4. This is a deviation of a few kilometres to Greece.

My suggestion: learn the track and get back to us with a detailed plan that includes track, and managing. There are people who know the area and will be happy to help you.

We are 6 guys 25. (Not everyone in good shape, one knows the track well.) Leave the center of the country's public transportation Thursday to Ramon. I haven't figured out where to sleep the first night, the planning is somewhere near Khan wells (I haven't really figured out where it exactly).

The next day, sleep in the back Dune, the second water source (of course before that talk to Angel metmin to verify the status of the water). Correct me if I'm wrong, but the car is deployed stream grottoes.

On the third day we go Sandy to MOP. From there the bus back.

In summary:

Accommodation: 1 night Khan area wells; 2-night Ms. Conn.

Water: mitzpe Ramon, Khan, Sandy wells, Sapphire.

Food: 3 days.

Distances: 1 day 20 km; Day 2-12 km; Day 3 – 30 km (by Division of Israel I found on the Internet).       Now I see no Division doing well, have to think about a small change. But that's the general idea.

Of course if you have a suggestion for an alternative route that would be welcome.

I'm concerned about your sentence "not everyone in good shape."

Three different days so not long to walk and easy along the dismembered and cliffs.

I don't know what Division. The decline of the Observatory into the crater of Israel but not in (or up as officers named in the interim). Any division of Israel does not take into account the deviation that you draw. You can save the deviation to draw if worry droping water There's a guy named best details for Angel list. Jump-start your joy of sixes road, water and a bit of luck, maybe even a gap parking lot.

If you want to see from day one – try here.

Here are some tips to save time:

1. skip the Ascension to Jamaica. 660. after your descent to Ramon and amonitim wall, continued on in the sleeping up to 40 road and walk along North until the new connection. With a little luck maybe caught a ride on the dirt road from Highway 40 to mfar. If good agrees to get there take him.

2. heresy: skip saronim and Horseshoe mountain grottoes. From the parking lot at the axis oil tones up North and then turn right on the road that leads you to 4 ein saronim. If it took me 40 minutes so you will take half an hour. Away umpteen deployed grottoes and through palm leaf to the spoon and then continue to nozzles in all time. of light.

But with all due respect, all of these shortcuts will help you if you're not in shape and if you (all of you, not one and that cousin's brother-in-law did it 20 years ago)-zero-space, know where parking of wells and the singer if you wake in the middle of the night.

This is a course for hikers, hikers who have experience in desert hiking with all equipment. It is not a matter with respect and honor for sea water have there 3 km exit points. Once dragged onto nozzle cockscomb you're on your own.  And I haven't even talked about the weather and heat, rain, flooding or high temperature in Dec 27 degrees in the shade (the temperature in the crater itself is 3-5 degrees more than the Observatory).

Make an account if it really suits you.

Peace being briefly summarize the path that I did with my 16 year old son days ago (for the benefit of readers feel don't reveal the exact holiday concerned). I wouldn't define myself in good shape, but I have little experience and not familiar with the area from my youth.

We drive Lilith to midreshet SDE Boker we name for accomadation.
The first day – "cold weather"
00 earlier went towards Zin Zin or higher (for rehabilitation operations changed because the stream of oil spills). Around 10 am we got below the pivot point due to oil-gathering (black) with Israel. We at heel (a serious laceration) and continued on the path of the eye due to Israel, fortunately – very little. Saved the current minority and remained 2 1/2 hours to swim and have fun. Milan eye due to water (used for cooking and bathing-mark out explained), so we left full of water in 14 sort due to the long direction that Beebe: ein akev top her timeline of oil and that the chip we at 1700 towards darkness. Keep a bored infections us us for the night (another 1.5 km walk) there just took a bunch of ג'יפאים and prepared. We waited for the conductor goes back approximately 500 m to sleep in nature – of course far from the spring and without disturbing the animals.
Summary: except for separately, not very hard, but weight because we had all the food and water. We cooked dinner and the weight accordingly. On the second day the weight off. There is room to consider bypassing the point due to the really beautiful though – there are many observations on Zin. I didn't evaluate.
Monday – regular-season weather.
We went early (7 am) after a serious breakfast (in order to lose weight from your back). Back to eye direction and axis direction chip oil – bill Israel + black check up snake. Walking on the axis that is not easy as it looks on the map (a lot of ups and downs) and only at 11 am we started experiencing this river five miles but not beautiful. We had to shorten the lunch but back in farm fresh this swimming experience. 00. a stream and return to sauce. In retrospect we should return to the stream's parking lot to finish. Garage night of river water had no farm although obviously there's landfills.
What we did in practice that went back to the way the oil axis toward the parking lot well. At this point I went from shoes to Sandals for a blistering problem and change in character. At about 5 pm we reached more than computer and the Ramon crater. The last 5 miles walked in the dark here around 7 pm to a garage in wells.
Summary: a very hard day but fun as hell. Use 12 liters us both all day and had to drink the waters of Milan on the back of the farm. A total of 25 miles in 12 hours.
Tuesday-Friday: hot
It was decided on. Out of the garage on wells 8 toward Nahal Ardon, grottoes, saronim knife Horseshoe. We have deployed in 12 and crevice after long rest did mount saronim that finished at 3. Away through the car to the road. Finished on Route 40 in time to catch a ride to Ramon. It was a hot day but in the grottoes there are many shadows and mount saronim has lots of spirit. It is important to remember that only for marked who even says on the knife itself (highest point) is very easy to follow, great and refreshing wind and see the view from both sides. Of course not dreamed.
Tuesday summary: because we were pretty ratotim from yesterday made an easy day with one of my favorite tracks from childhood. A great end to a wonderful trip. Even if it was warmer still chuckling that easily shadow long breaks.

Thanks for the detail. I'm just trying to plan a trip with a friend mid-week (so that I could be Wednesday night at mitzpe Ramon and my girlfriend come back to Center, Jerusalem). The idea was to travel the desert for a few days, but this morning I found out Wednesday that evening so holiday should change course because there are problems with public transport. I think I've done a track similar to what you did.
