Hello everyone,

I would like to receive recommendation for water filter. I thought about these two options:

MSR's HyperFlow Microfilter or katadyn mini of KATADYN

I'd love to recommendations and things to think about that probably didn't think about them.

Perhaps to give up and settle for Aqua (less weight!)???

Thank you!

I read at the time, there are many people who are disappointed haiiper-Flo ...
Although very effective filter and pumping water at first very efficiently and very fast but after a few uses it starts to slow down and clog. Need to clean the appliance after extraction of every 8 liters and after cleaning it is not always possible to stop the deterioration of function.
Again, what I write is not from personal experience but only things I read on the Internet.
I don't know if MSR managed to improve their product since, but I certainly hope so. Overall this product is so expensive. Imagine that you are buying it and after a couple of drains is starting to stop. Sucks. In addition, there is the issue of weight of course (but put it aside).

At the time I thought I would buy this product (especially so as not to put unnecessary chemicals.) but after reading about the fillings done about-face gave up.

There are quite a few reviews of both filters, hard to decide.

Suggest you log on to TRAILFORUMS and check reviews there as well.

If I may suggest that

This filter used me on the A.T.  Cut the hose of the WATER BAG in the middle of the filter and strengthen connections in plastic

If you need more information about the A.T. Ask

Water boy. Just out of curiosity, how your filter in terms of processor time rate? The experience is very, very limited with a gravity filter, it kicks in pretty quickly, but maybe this company (which is new in filters) new technology.

And while we're on the subject, I remember a statistic from years ago, who claimed that the four purification methods apalch purification, chemical filter, selectively (purging only suspicious sources) or no purge there in the long term the same way a failure. The study is before the purification method using STERIPEN ultraviolet light became popular, and I'm basically really skeptical regarding statistics on Appalachian spring, but in this case I'm inclined to believe.   The problem is that for five months you balicha to Pelter water several hundred times, when Greece whenever you do it there to screw up, e.g. to put the hose port of the filter into the polluted water, or purify the bulb using chemicals, eventually you of contaminated water (enough for one drop too contaminated to paste).    The good news is that water pollution is the apalch, on which medical studies say ש70% of the population are asymptomatic adults, i.e. trivial valuation effects (and smell).     From my personal these statistics I noticed that Israelis I know tend to suffer from much less than the average American. Maybe it's because amdgem, small amount of people, but maybe it's because Israelis grow on water quality, less American and therefore more immune. And maybe that's true and Israelis don't grow on mineral water and filters, etc.    Placing my job that need to be taken with a grain of very limited what you say about effective water purification because the water source selection, and above all, the immune system, more reliable critical documents.

[QUOTE = Ronnie] child. Just out of curiosity, how your filter in terms of processor time rate? The experience is very, very limited with a gravity filter, it kicks in pretty quickly, but maybe this company (which is new in filters) new technology.

So that's it's not these gravity filter IN-LINE that is sitting on the tube and drinking the water is pumped through it when you drink the only problem I had with it is that if the tube long drinks so she could pack in the case and block the water on one hand but on the other hand a tube by may I to challenge the strength of the ties that connect the filter to. I preferred to deal with the case in a few minutes in the morning than to take the risk in case of WATERBAG.

Sloaog and others use gravity and plteri except less to fill a bag and hang it at a height enough then connect the filter and attach the net bag etc which takes time (on the other hand, giving me time to rest) there were no problems

I had another idea GOOSE NECK that is connected to the screw nut filter of drinking bottle

I've used in the past on Pur two doubles (ctadin), and learned the hard way that when they say ' can't clog, meaning ' if earlier, never clean it. That gave him final after some browsing wipe me and a friend happened to time to purify five liters. Since I am with the Miniworks EX who profess not to required-cleaning is very easy to clean it up to full pace. I don't know about what Ronnie wrote, but with the Miniworks water filling extremely dubious sources (color, odor, turbidity), and waters and so far no ill after purification.
