Hi Forum members,

In three months I go on a walk with my friend in the stans (China via Tajikistan into Kyrgyzstan). Planning to try to go one long trail about half a year +. It's not about an existing trail, but trying to "friend" on foot paths.

Next week I will be in New York and I plan to visit Campmor over missing equipment is complete and REI to refresh.

The main things I intend to buy are:

Case : I'm replacing congratulations the Gregory Shasta the clumsy and heavy, I bought a few years ago without much thought, before I made a month and a half on the PCT after loitering in the Forum, I'm impressed that there are many good reviews on the Osprey Atmos 65 Ultralight

Shoes: I have a real Air Revolution5 I received during military service six years ago. As well, clunky and heavy. I don't have a specific shoe yet thought about her. I know I didn't buy Asolo or because most Alderman Salomon shoes have soft soles wear out fast.

Tent: torn between Big Agnes Seedhouse following the recommendation of two friends who did with the pct, and Double Rainbow ' Henry ' which appears in the Forum as successful and easy tent. One of the considerations is given responsibility for the tent my friend replaced the Big Agnes in REI after that play.

Walking sticks, and rain is no Greece yet.

I'd love to have opinions about the case and tents, and a recommendation to rain clothing, shoes and walking sticks.

I wouldn't restrict myself in terms of budget, believing that stay with you for years.

Thanks, Guy

P.s.

I am looking for some compact transmitter that can send messages on your computer, ITM in the selected country. Remember seeing this before, but I can't find it.

Probably not the stans.

Read the specification, how does it work exactly? It transmits information?

Also involves an annual fee.

About rain clothing-I really like the Marmot's prisip. They now have a model easier. And trousers of the same type, even if I don't use my pants most of the time.
About walking sticks – I can recommend sticks of Leckie, who is one of the largest companies in the field. My left stick bent two years ago, but he has worked very well, and since I went to a few trips and he carried. Just a little uncomfortable to fold it.
There is also an ultra-light sticks, for example on the website of godemr limestone (and I'd like to take this opportunity to complain about the function of adding links to messages, sputtering and works most of the time)-http://gossamergear.com/trekking.html-I haven't used them, but perhaps it's also an option.
And-I would recommend the Rainbow. I have the single, rather than double, plus some old model. But I'm very happy with it. Very easy to set up, and space. And free standing. Good tent.

Photo from the Golan Heights in October.

About bags:
At REI has a million different models. I use the FLASH model REI. Case very easy really, but he's back rest system. Has the model of ה65 liters of their Editors ' Choice top destinations in 2009 that in order for you to try.
It is also cheaper than others.

About shoes:
Take what is most comfortable and suitable for you.

About tent:
If you use sticks walk, so I recommend the tent there in the image. Nemo Meta 2 p 2 very spacious tent is that you construct with walking sticks. There are also three people as old shanti. Very strong and durable.

Walking sticks:
Black diamond or leki cool companies. His point that diamond and iron.

Do not recommend over in Throop, no Union to a long journey. I have the utter 60, dated to the second day, Israel opened seam, after much ikoachim with the salesman who was surprised to see me with tear case two weeks after Kenya, he brought me a new bag of the same model. Three months later it came back after the sutures have torn back system in the Judean desert. The case was 3 months at the importer (bad) and returned with concurrence of Carpenter. After 4 months I didn't use him kmat went to Caucasus, Turk when daily walk far everywhere tore me again seated back in the system. Importer (worst service.) said he won't fix the case because the first amendment was done by someone not a pro. Height weight carried with this case was 14 kg including weight.
A test I did four more cases of the same model all break in the same place.
About Atmos 65 met American traveler with this case and his back began to rupture.
I personally am very disappointed in their equipment. And infuse importer.

Hello again everyone,

First of all, thank you for your comments and recommendations-wise with experience.

-I think I will buy the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL. lots of good reviews the main dilemma is whether to buy a tent two or three tent at the cost of six pounds and a few $ in many places said ultra light tents in two crowded.
See also Nemo Meta 2 p, although some times bbikorot indicate the moisture that accumulates on the walls-disadvantage of tent with a single layer.

Case does anyone else apart from Gilad had a problem with the zippers of auspryy? The truth is their files that I look pretty delicate and REI's site says that the ATMOS is no longer in stock.
Welcome-care is the ALTRA65 of the zipper doesn't absorb a lot of pressure when the bag full total looks interesting, will check it.
Rain cover-Sea to Summit Ultra Light Packcover although price excessive.

Raincoat-REI Ultra Light Jacket. It seems a good coat. I don't understand all the intricacies of somebody.. http://www.rei.com/produ...-ultra-light-jacket-mens

Walking shoes and I already see in the store.
What are the strengths of elliptical sticks?
About SPOT-this is what I was looking for, but unfortunately ה"סטאנים" falling right on without coverage.

The track that was made more in the planning stages, soon as I plan to raise it.

Thanks and good week,
Guy

Meta 2 p tent really have this problem--if you can call it a problem. This happened also sometimes sleeping in which 3 people and a tent wasn't nervous. But it's not bad. We didn't come to dropping rain on us. The shkshim were dry. In short, if you open the tent properly, no problems.

Elliptical stronger sticks.

Loved the stick. Black diamond has the most comfortable hand straps for my taste.

Hi there,

REI's store in New York left the OSPREY ATMOS65 only in sizes M, S before I headed to the store to see if they fit me, I'd love to know if you think they match my height-1.81.

Thank you
Guy

It turns out that the ATMOS has been hardly sold anymore after a few calls, I found it in the store and this one, EMS last.

I'd love to have another case recommendation 60-70 easy.

Thank you
Guy

Gregory baltoro 65 (not easy, but possible to compromise in the face of inconvenience)

And-there are dedicated devices for measuring the torso to help you decide. Anyway, try the bag weight (the difference is insignificant). Shaharellert 40934.3829976852

To have the Deuter ACT Lite 40 + 10, coming 50 + 10 ו65 + considering between 1.5 to 1.76 kg comer. + and I'm really satisfied.
I have read some complaints about the comfort of ה65 +, but all one needs to check himself.
