It is better to give up. All these chargers require long hours of direct exposure to sunlight at an angle to recharge, and/or dedicated equipment. In short, not practical enough if you're with a backpack on your back, or too expensive. Baggage that might works on AA batteries and USB jacks; Battery bundle and manage.

It is precisely Israel trip gives you quite a few hours of Sun, and connect the load to the top of the case is quite simple.

I have experience with company's PowerFilm panels. Good products, but any battery connection to energy available when you need it (and not just when there is sun exposure) and cargo will provide stream provides load energy-hogging devices (Ipad, Iphone4 ...). So begins a rdak try to Sabra. Not an ideal solution shortcut.

I'm currently planning to upgrade to one of two products:
1. Bootstrap Solar
Panel and a battery, built as a self assembly Kit, includes the ability to add/change panels or batteries. Addresses the current requirements of the Ipad2.

2. Goal0 (GoalZero
Model Nomad7 Panel combined Guide10 battery,
The product is based on 4 AA batteries and battery working two-way: loading the batteries from sunlight and use for charging external devices via a USB port.

I was just working on my site that article gives a detailed comparison and more specific.

I'd love to hear if anyone have personal experience with one of our products!
