We depart 12.3 for Norway (even have tickets ...)
There are several issues that remain open, if someone can choose:
A. manned cabins-accommodations should I reserve?
On whether it is necessary to take Gore-Tex shoes (I generally sweating myself to death ...)?
I can't get information about snow amounts, off-road mode, does anybody have any idea where to look (I contacted the Organization and they don't know DNT close-mouthed about the details)?
4. water-taking means purifying
E. total maps map 20-25 euros. We have three. If anyone knows a free network source where you can download the maps.

Thanks:)

Hi, tirkati in Norway, a few answers:
In season, I recommend to reserve a place, but the margin was perhaps only recommends more accessible venues and destinations (like the Skogadalsboen in iotnheiman.)
B. to take mandatory, have Gore-Tex shoes many rainy days very wet ground will also get wet!, and the only thing that can keep your feet dry is the Gore-Tex. Not hot. You didn't say how long you fly, but towards the end of August already.
C. now nobody can predict you the amount of snow that would be for the DNT date will be more useful.
D. no necessary decontamination measures.
5. maps-if you stick to marked trails, so no need to buy maps, each cabin or DNT branch you can get free codes of all Norway map with all cabins and nodes. Definitely can handle only. If you leave the marked trails then you should take a map. Tell what you need, you may have to scan.

Feel free to contact me for further questions.

We depart 19וחוזרים at 6.8. 4-5 days to be first manned cabins. I guess the first manned aviation meet at 16.0. Do you think it is a good idea to reserve?

The plan is to begin the Trek from groteli, to go south in the western part and later to iotnheiman. At gjendsheim (not planning to go straight but explore the paths through Blanco, spiterstolan glitterheim etc)

As I turned to dnt they didn't specify free maps have ... Weird

I think it's right to secure the end of the season. Unless you are really close to every day, and there is no room for spontaneity, anyway, then there is no reason not to buy.

The topographic maps are not free but are simple. You scan?

Basically most of their bus stop working normal in 1.9, because going into winter. So pay attention if you trust it. That will have to wait a day or two to have summer bus several times a day.

About maps-at the time I downloaded apicatia to your phone (Android) named norgeskart that contains markup maps directing cost of Norway-was superb during the trip ~
Don't have a means of water purification.
Probably won't be too much snow. Nonetheless, he stops to descend on the area.
About yr.no-weather site is very precise and covers all Norway.
Enjoy!
