Hello
Those who planned to go that route was late winter in Switzerland and very busy.

Started on 5/7/13 the Mont Fort from a day walk exhausting and dangerous had to change my plan about continuing the Trek.
The part of the Sentier des chamois closed with snow and thus crossed the Col de la chaux ski resort-like.

From what I gather, who start at Mont Fort Camonix to no special problems.

I have no information regarding what happens next but wasn't surprised with most of the mountains above 2600 with snow.

Good luck!

Hi NIR,
Thanks for the update. You started making the most problematic in the weather-the Grand Desert.
Well at least you got back safely.

We also started the WHR in Chamonix and 5.7.2013 but have warned a lot of snow in the mountains. We met people who had taken the bus and those who went in deep snow, but when we got to the high passes, we had snow up to his knees, tops and it certainly conveys with crampons and good weather and certainly we made.
Hope to get full reporting on the Forum in the coming days.

The spoilers across snow to experiment with crampons on the third day (2 friends went with me)

I had a lot of snow rising to Montfort, Lord of tyre. Was just a bit of rain in the last 100 meters.
