I bought a secondhand tent on eBay. About 10. The first model of thistent.
He hasn't arrived, but I'm already thinking about refreshing the sealant. While the previous owner said he is in good condition, no rips, etc, but it was in use. Very quickly came to Nikwax product udo and encountered in the network. Some other recommendations
Does anyone know if there is a difference in that respect silicone coated canvas or PU? According to the catalogues of the companies seem so that different products to different coating types.

Nikwax great company have their products to make products
1 high quality and excellent staff
Here they offer includes sealing old tent against solar radiation
The Sun and water.
About sealing the seams of your tent or this case with
This diluted mix silicone silicone and thinner until departing
Night at fabric, olive oil and spread on the seam of the tent,
Open and stretched to dry sufficiently, and check if the pipe or
If water and if you have done it again carefully.
Outdoors if you brush, gloves and a mask to let dry at least overnight.
PS, not to forget the tent. (This is the best method for sealing seams and I do it to my tents each year). Easyman 41521.6317013889

I have good experience with silaniilon more
Permatex Windshield Sealant Flowable
I came to this following recommendation at BPL-much prefer it to the alternatives.
No need to dilute it

I think there's a difference between silaniilon and PU-recommend you search on BPL before you do something.

Hello everyone,
I feel it would be better to give that old thread than to write.
Also asking certainly connected.

I tried caulking the seams with silicone that Henry recommends TARPTENT website on my tent (CLOUDBURST model 2) and it seems to work.
The question is, why not do the sealing on all tent and even the ground not just on stitches I bought the tent 8 years ago and I'm afraid he's losing his resistance against water.
On the other hand, after a thorough investigation on the NET never seen anywhere that a reference to do that then there might be a problem that I don't know where the entire tent lining not only stitches.
Someone might have a try? Is it adds weight to tent?
Thank you

I checked with flap sealing rubber grid and making it possible to silnilon (there are even videos on YouTube how to do it cheaper).
Amma?
Even more efficient industrial means, the ₪ coating adds to the overall percent by weight. The values found are: 1.1 OZ rubber to make a square yard makes it to 1.35 OZ.
Add to that the bantim won't get home so efficient coating.
Also, I have no idea whether the new silicon connects well to sleep.
Knowing the different domain to Silicon have what are called "lifetime" something between 10-15 years (depending on the quality and form of the application), but, if your tent yet, I wouldn't advise you to get into this adventure just keep fixing it if necessary, surgical
And ... One day replace him after all, eight years. He earned his keep.
