Yes Noam. You're right. I'm still with Nokia 1280 it far from smartphones. It has a monochromatic display and therefore really easy to read. And the battery keeps a couple of weeks. Would recommend to anyone. I use it as a phone, but who has this great option for Smartphone.

There are shops in Israel that sell different models of navigation devices or again should all overseas?

Arthur,

Not I the long thread so if you've already raised this with you.

As far as I know not everywhere has satellite reception. Northern/southern latitudes 70 or older faint or does not exist. Especially if you're in the Mall, in the fjord or between two mountains. Thick clouds of mask too. This topic was acute when shrchshti to satellite services on my last journey in Scandinavia. Incidentally, the line width 68 still had good reception.

First test: I made yesterday the Nice route-srpentinot-dbshon-eye eye-bottom up Scintilla Zin Zin (blue + red).

Measures: lg g3, installed oplein map oruxmaps (israel hiking map), GPS powered all the way (without tracking),-auto, 6 sessions of the total screen along the way.

The surprise: I came back to the garage after 5 hours with 100% battery. Yes, it's probably not accurate. For the test, battery status and more variables. But still, I'm impressed. I'm planning a few "tests". See what will be the results.

I'd love to have comments/suggestions.

Interesting that you specify. Yesterday and the day before yesterday I attended with some friends in the Mountain Valley race (a great experience-recommend to everyone). We have the GPS on your phone to get replacement points and give our position during the run.
Anyway, 24 hours of attempts on the GPS in my phone didn't work even once! Beyond that, it was very annoying, it's a little unnerving confidence about taking it anywhere in somewhere.
Is it true that you can taste all kinds of technical explanations or problems with the software I used (and boys), and in the past I was able to successfully use GPS in rowing. But if in doubt-this is definitely not adds.

We were officially a team of stunned, but ran only seven. Not ran. It was pretty bad, we were really out of shape to run such distances (ran about 35), but it was really fun. Do it next year but we have to get better control.

No, the race is a relay race and switch points are set. I need a Visual to get there by car. And for 24 hours GPS failed. Very strange because he never gave me any problems.

There might be some explanation. But the point is, if I couldn't deal with gps in the area, I wouldn't want to be in the same position in the wilderness in Iceland.

If you can't deal with GPS in uninhabited area about a technical problem, specifically. There is no reason why these conditions fail unlocked.

Also try: today I went a-space gravel-gravel pits-stepping and seminary road up the cliff path and Chen indicated in green. Exit at 0600 to 1030 with 100% FGS in battery.
The precise locations (e.g. gravel pits, deployed step).

The trend for me-if necessary specific identification on a map, or ideas I mentioned in a previous post delivers the goods.
I wonder do you use rolls (a trek of several days combined with other uses such as photography, video) the results are significantly different.

Search for Grameen maps with built-in installation. With these maps you don't need additional software

There are lots of Grameen network maps prostitutes. These maps in IMG files and often with prefix gmapXXX (short for Garmin map + name)
All maps must be Grameen me resolution levels. Good tofu maps (mostly in plate) include most trails and very accurate.

To work with these maps all what you need to do is copy the IMG file to a directory "Garmin" GPS device, then open the map with the BaseCamp software.
For course navigation not BaseCamp software. Editing software is only for those who want to add their own marks and spots on the map that appears on the device.

Thank you, Amnon. The question was specific to maps of Israel 24 km. Do you have a link to them? Possible. Other maps are really not missing (only an annoying installation)

I haven't found the IMG file hack of Israel and thus acquired at the time the map costs on micro SD card.
Since four years have passed since Grameen out and no map, update version are likely that pirate copy crack exists in the network.

Incidentally, the official price in the country of the maps on the SD card is $ 599 but on Ioffer is sold for $ 134 including delivery

Just remember that Ioffer site full of crooks who take money and sending goods. They sent me a package with smiley button. I haven't seen the money back.
