Hello everyone,

We think about the possibility of reaching California in mid-October when we can spend 5-7 days for hiking. Exit and back should have been to LA.

Accordingly, we are seeking a course of several days in one of the parks. Does anyone know and experience walking in the area at this time of year?

Some thoughts that came to me (again, depending on the possibility of weather):

What section JMT FILMS DISTRIBUTION

High Sierra Trail

Yosemite

Grand Canyon (not in California and a little further but there seems to be no climate problems)

I'd love to hear more ideas and experience in the area during the autumn.

Thank you very much.

Both sites/uploaded tracks differ widely, and of course not in close proximity to each other.

About Sierra Nevada track length: 90-100 mph and it seems a reasonable distance to do this week. The question of what your fitness and what equipment you intend to go.

The most important thing that needs to be reckoned with in October is the weather. The winter season can begin as early as September and then the weather is completely unexpected.

Call to Sequoia National Park authorities and Kings Canyon where passes and ask. I think the time is out of the Tour season, including Yosemite, where the Northern starting point of the JMT FILMS DISTRIBUTION.
Also, you should obtain a certificate/permit walking track. It is necessary also that create contact.

About the Grand Canyon.
There's a lot of tracks. Get an account it's a desert and you have to take into account the available water resources while walking you're planning, and of course you need to take with you means purification, maps and walking equipment not lists in your question.

Required for approval/permit. Note that the sooner you ask the better license. The place is popular and sure to have licenses for travel dates. It's not "as you wish".

Look at this link on the left side and see links to more information. You can of course make contact and ask.

Amnon, thank you very much for your detailed answer.

About equipment, not because I have outlined more trying to figure out what's up there this season. Once we know where we will borrow the needed equipment.

In addition, if someone walks around October I'd love to hear.

Hi Amit,
The description that you have shared here sounds good! We arrive at the end of September to early October.
Can you elaborate how this track on-line pramit
And also-is there really a need to invite pramit? That's really the end of the season.
Thank you
Daniel

Pramit request can be submitted to Yosemite map.

I don't know if I really need to pre-order or not but we decided we should "risk" $ 15 or whatever it costs.
