The blue trail, crossing Hungary

General
Here the trail in Europe which is also cheaper, and also organized and suitable for a wide range of seasonal from April to November.

It comes to Hungary across the width (West to East) 1160 km in length and is part of the E4 's formidable across all Europe, Atlantic to Cyprus (inclusive) in more than 10,000 km.

OKT "The blue path" (in Hungarian: rsz?gos O KT?ra ?k) is a relatively low orbit gives historic cultural experience. Bill mild difficulty in medium +

Characteristics and trail difficulty
The trail starts at the Austrian border crossing in northern Hungary and ends at the border of Ukraine. Passing the highest summit in Hungary (1014 m) while the top over Budapest (926 m), but most of the time he works in heights of 100 to 400 meters, so it is for very low. In terms of cover, a spokesman for progress in forest and agricultural rural areas. The trail is not difficult to walk but who goes over 20 miles a day, usually above 500 bulk meters of ups and downs.

Divided into sections, the Guide for the passport and signed for.
The official site for (That is reliable and updated in Hungarian), divides the route into 27 sections. Each section is divided forever 10 sub sections (we went up 19-14 bits-200 km).
For example the first section -?rottk? Sarvar 71.9 km long, is divided into eight sections underground (OKT011-01OKT8) to read as follows: OKT prpikss followed by the two digits of the part number and one of several undersea section. Except for the sections of the trail itself has 14 Passport stamping points are directly on the trail but a short distance away. Short trails that lead to those signing have the OKT9 prefix + number running from January 5 to 14. The official guide for only exists in Hungarian, and can be purchased at:

But the official, there are also yellow for guide in three languages

The instructors are also used when Passport Bill ". Interior pages have signed zones for each section, as can be seen on the right side on every page:

I think the whole concept of Passport Bill and signatures is childish and pointless when the bonus part of interest (for example, food discounts, or free beer) but who am I to argue with a popular?

Hiking season and the weather

First of all, let's review the temperature and average rainfall of each month in Budapest (the city's low, i.e. the height: 100 m)

You can see from the graphs, the best months to hike for are April, may and October, when temperatures are perfect for walking and relatively low rainfall. We should also remember that you may perceive the high spring and October get high casting two bonuses which should not be underestimated. July and August are too hot. Temperatures climb easily to 36 degrees, the boiling hell bugs and forest are in action. Global warming denial that summer into September and the rainy months of the year, it is better to avoid it. Keep in mind that most moving higher for the Danube and therefore the temperature will be lower than for himself than in Budapest (a decrease of one degree for every increase in height of 100 m). This means that in April, may or October, should be prepared in terms of clothing, walking in temperatures around zero in high altitude.

Long-term weather forecast 10 days around Budapest

Bill check and maintenance level
Blue Lane is marked as blue bar between two white stripes. Check for level is the best I've ever meet. Who wants to go "pure" only by markup, shouldn't take maps and g.p.s. sequencer. The trail is marked and controls and can be tracked in any weather. Marks are everywhere. Trees, rocks, benches, fences, houses. Where isn't it? At a meeting with other trails (and including) are clear signs with distances and estimated walk time. By the way, quite a few trails in Hungary are designed for dirt bike-sports.

In terms of maintenance, so most of the trail is on forest walks and used vehicles too wide of hunters and truckloads of wood industry. That means very comfortable walking ashifoaim but the ointment because after the rain, the roads become very swampy because of them and where huge puddles are formed flat need to bypass through the forest, which the normal progression. It's also the place to mention that the forests are filled with sirpedim and it is highly recommended to go with long pants.

Bench one of many along the path. There are also camping areas of workbenches, charcoal grills and trash cans. Hungarian organized ultimate manhood

Typical sign at the intersection of trails. Clary Hungary in hiking and cycling

Topographic maps and navigation
Has topographic maps of Hungary's but I've never used even in tofu only g.p.s. sequencer.

First phase: testing the path on the interactive map and Google Earth software using KMZ file thatto track

In step 2:  I downloaded topographic trail map of Hungary's navigation devices (A map with all the marks) and GPX file of each track.

More was needed. The trail is marked so well, as mentioned, waaaay maps and g.p.s. sequencer. Those who insist on buying the maps directory.

Getting htniidot
Flying to Budapest (who wished to make each track can also fly to Vienna). Oaocust flies directly UP, ELAL's and vizaiir.
The airport needs to reach the main railway station (by bus, train or taxi). From there should take the train to the city and town K?szegszerdahely Szombathely hotel reservations

We track section on the blue trail starts in Budapest, making us the pist to the starting point. At the end of the hike, we returned to Budapest by train.

The Hungarian currency and conversion rates
Although Hungary belongs to the eurozone, but it kept its official currency forint (HUF acronym "ongrein forint). Outside Budapest not nearly euros, especially in remote villages. We got stuck at a certain point without forint and nobody accepts us. It was very uncomfortable and luckily found last minute ATM and we pulled him forint cash rate. Hungary cheap outside Budapest. Daily living cost per person (accommodation and meals) dating between 25 to 30 euros. That is a good idea to convert to the Budapest 30 euros X number of days the planned hike. You can buy forint in Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion Airport the gate there particularly impressive but is good from a few awful gate you get Terminal. For example, the official rate of the euro on 15 September 2015 was 310 forint, but the router is 276 forint and terminal was in Budapest only 240 forint (23% less than the official gate). Thieves!! Who was smart and replaced one of the dozen euro in downtown Budapest, the gate of 301 or 303 forint to the euro. Nowhere else will you get such great gate. So I suggest you to replace at all euro airport Take a taxi to Budapest and to ask her to stop in Chechnya. Just don't lose money to con artists.

The Hungarians are no cut (like Israel) porint two zeros and therefore the local currency feel like the Italian lirtot (once) or the lira. The smallest Bill of 500 forint and the largest of 20,000 forint (Lo 100 € = 31,000 forint as of September 2005). Avoid any effective bills of 20,000 forint because remote villages bmchollot, which runs the path won't always be change for deed. Safest to convert euros to 5000 forint bills, because they are always negotiable.

B
In almost every village goes for there is at least one accommodation option. It usually B & B or Board (serving meals) or Zimmer (without food). Prices range between 15 to 25 euros per person, depending on the level of room and meals. Most places I was surprised in cleanliness and amenities. They compete in any convenient b & b of $ 600 and a third (with breakfast). The preparation work for the port used for some sites, in order to obtain a complete picture of the various options. These are the sites:

1) accommodation options along the path (divided into sections)

2) search engine to set the world's rules

3) search engine stays in Hungary

4) Google maps

Food and water.
Hungarian food (outside Budapest), to say the least, especially when it comes to meat. We learned (in our flesh, so to speak) in hongrim not roasting the meat just fry it.
It takes some time to understand the difference between chicken Fried to Grilled chicken is that it's Fried with fried breadcrumbs (meet schnitzel) and Grilled it just deep fat frying.
No remote villages the term "grills" and is true for meat to fish. Requested Fried Fish received in fried fish.

Another thing is the thickness of the meat. Since all so thick fried pieces of meat is always of schnitzel and no fear to medium doneness. Everything fried Super Duper level wall.
Most of the meat from chickens or pigs, because growing in villages. Here and there you find on menus even duck or deer but mostly pork and chicken. Rare beef.

Of course there are always options menu of fish, delicate seasoning directly with Danube of mercury and pesticides and deep-fried in thorough nachrchim soybean oil.

Sometimes we like the salmon sbitsh surprises, but that's only because the restaurant was just 15 minutes drive from Budapest.

Two Rhapsodies are known dishes goulash soup and Hungarian pancakes. No one roshpld subtracts a beat with Jonathan.

The national dish: goulash soup

The discovery of the biggest culinary from me, the spread was Eros hot Pista served always close to the goulash. It's paprika paste in a lot of salt and oil. We recommend the FDA for the treatment of low blood pressure.

The price of food and drinking water in the villages is so funny. A full meal in the restaurant (main and dessert first) with a beer will cost between 7-10 euro. Who really wants to save can buy food at the supermarket and countryside to believe Europe could be so cheap. A pint of cold-2 $ 1 shop?, cheese-5 per kilo. There are no such things.

Water is not a problem. Each village can full of water, not just restaurants. Each village has a cemetery outside has always slimming. Furthermore there is also water pumps scattered at various points. At no stage should not carry more than two liters of water. Easy to handle with one and a half liter or gallon. It all depends on the temperature. We dealt with a succession of 33 degrees and hence kicking 2 liters.

One of the many water pumps are installed along the track and used by hikers.

Nice, population, language and communication
Here we are touching on some sore points. Outside Budapest Hungary feels quite yet. Almost all the young people left for Budapest who remained in the villages are mostly old people and Gypsies. Shouldn't expect friendly smile meets with the old. It's like watching a cashier in old Russia Israeli supermarket, that smile you cordially. Communism failed political system but in serial production of hard men without joy. Communism comes with powerful property of patriotism and xenophobia. We feel this one in almost total lack of English speakers. Hungarian language no. Hungarian and have tea. No problem, because Hungarian not like any other language. You can listen fifteen minutes of conversation in Hungarian are unable to extract from it even a Word with meaning. Hungarian language is Chinese. After a 10-day trip, don't have a clue how to say basic words like: Hello, good morning, Yes and no. All this makes communication very problematic. Also in the Lycian way in Turkey don't speak English but almost in streaming media without any effort you wanted and even insisted on calling. In Hungary it is much more difficult. Pretty old dislike communicating with foreigners. First word in English can wear them and you look foreign, not conducive to you credits. People not guilty. The desire to help actually exists, but it's hard to recover from communism.

Mobile phone reception along the track.
Surprisingly, but in this modern Hungary. There is a cellular network everywhere and free high-speed WiFi all as b. We came with discounted packages overseas and not deal with taxes.

Dogs
As far as I know, the Hungarians are the world's leading maintenance dogs. Hungary has three dogs than humans. Those who remember the navigation in the negative the Bedouins, can imagine what noise they make as they pass travellers in the country which has hundreds of thousands of dogs. It's something difficult Symphony class. What is striking is that, without exception, the finest locks behind bars. There is no free-roaming dogs. Communism.

Security cameras
Big brother is celebrating. No mill in Hungary not photographed on the street.

Budapest-modern oasis in the middle of Hungary
It's not Hungary Budapest and has no relationship to Hungary. Simply no correlation. Other people, another culture, other tax rates later. This is a modern city surrounded by land.
In the closing five stores in אחרה"צ village and restaurants while Budapest just seven heats. It's really a city that never sleeps. Beautiful, too expensive and too English. Maybe it's the new Middle East which desperately sought Prize Smiling people, young people, tourists everywhere, passing luxury cars, shops, street lighting brands. It's hard to believe that only a half hour away by train all over. Anyone who travels long enough to feel very blue in Budapest. Of belonging. Like another planet thrown

Is it worth to go the whole route
I don't have a definite answer. There is love and not. Forests and villages certainly has a special charm, not hard, the weather is comfortable and really cheap trip. I felt after eight days, the forest and the village rather than exhaust themselves. For the five months apalazim going in the Woods but winners of social experience unforgettable. In Hungary, you don't want to wander alone in the long term because you not only feel lonely but also would be lonely. If you take comfort in any film on tv, you'll find everything from dub to Hungarian. Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt speak Hungarian fluently and angelina Jolie has a Hungarian accent. In total we had a nice group and the group that I think is optimum for the trip. Pairs or more. Don't go out alone.

Good for them on the site. Very detailed explanations on each topic, almost.

I actually searched for over 1000 kilometres in Europe.
I hate the concept of relatively new-to get all the national trails and connect them to E.
No matter what you do you always trail feel like you're doing just a small part of a longer path that actually have a chance to do.
Annoying.

I don't think the problem of anti-Semitism who follows trails
Austria also doesn't really love but haven't heard complaints Jews who went hiking in Tyrol
No more anti-Semitic than Hungary Germany Poland and Austria.
Turkey also on paper but not anti-Semitic feel this when going on the Lycian way or in St. Paul.
In short – anti-Semitism shouldn't deter anyone from walking for

It turns out that Justice Ma (no surprise!) about anti-Semitism in Hungary. The extreme right party (a clear anti-Israel and anti-Semitic) won there tonight at approximately 21% of the vote.

I have no idea how and if this is noticeable and disturbing to go for like the OKT. Me personally, it's really sad to know that hate me so somewhere?

Anthem-anti-Semitism as exists in the European countries in its "old indeed mostly harmless to man but in Hungary have daubed anti-Israeli activist and an affinity with neo-Nazi elements.
All well and good until the first ל"היתקלות". I wouldn't want to be the first.

I wasn't in that country. Then it's time to go. And alpine trails and others told me straight a.
