Hello everyone,
We are a couple who want to fly to Uganda two weeks starting April 20.
We would like to omansim a few days trek to understand how Rwenzori Mountain range is only for experienced hikers Trek.
In addition, the experience of others is the amount of rain this season could match that kind of trip.
We look forward to any piece of information.
Thank you!

The Rwenzori Mountains is definitely one of amdaimim and. Unable to make the Trek independently, and must use the services of one of the two companies, which provide a guide, Cook and porters, overnight cabins, as well as strengthening the good trails. The price is expensive (more than $ 100 per person per day), but not unusual in comparison to other African Safari attractions or viewing gorillas.

The basic route of six days (powered by RMS — see here), and is not particularly difficult, but definitely not easy-nor some steep parts walk in, and in my opinion it is not recommended to people who are accustomed to walking. Caution is required in the interest of the track out around 4300 m 2 passim, and two nights staying at 4000 m, so the issue is not a trivial matter-high adaptability should know the symptoms of altitude sickness, and maybe add Yom adaptation. The highest is the beautiful Trek (amazing plants!) and feel bad. The track can be added to the base one (5000 m) peaks, but then a much higher difficulty level, including some glaciers. We haven't given up.

The weather is nearly always wet, Rwenzori and also in seasons that are considered "continents". April is part of the rainy season. We hiked in November, which is considered dry, and rain was. A matter of luck. Anyway, this should not prevent you to gear up Trek-rain coat, tall rubber boots (kasesa, where buyers to Trek), equipment for sealing bags, get ready mentally to get wet, and you're set (don't count on leasehold equipment where high-quality). The large wetlands have raised walkways and comfortable accommodations are comfortable and dry cabin.

As mentioned above.

Thank you for your detailed reply!
In the meantime I sent an email to three companies that saw dealing with trekking organization:
1. http://www.rwenzoritrekk...ekkingoptions.html-price they display for 8-9 days TREK (including email sending them) expensive than specified-$ 1150 + 18% VAT + $ 35 per day for the nature reserves authority together it seemed excessive.
2. http://rwenzorimountaineeringservices.com/-price they sent me $ 1400 is stark. Very expensive too.
3. the third company that she has received a recommendation from another acquaintance who is supposed to be about $ 120 per day includes everything is http://www.rwenzorihiker...om/mtmargherita.html-not yet replied.

And again,
Thanks a lot!

(The links don't work)

Note that two divisions of three different companies. Can't compare, but I think we should make sure that staying long enough at altitudes above 4000 m around the area of the Afro-alpine vegetation astonishing (and perhaps add vagrancy day). We went up the main ה"מסלול with RMS, we preferred it over the southern tip of RTS (in 2013-route of the Rwenzori Mountains-was gone one time notice that you may be sleeping in tents and huts there).

About the prices-the routes you requested, you have been proposed include an increase to the Margarita or otherwise? It is a significant shaker (CI-weather not fitted). We don't deal in advance but we arrived the day before leaving for the Office of RMS in ksesa, long tmkachno name the price, declined significantly. We were three guys two more expensive. What helped is that we mostly out of season (even you), we brought some equipment (need less porters) and astepkano in vegetarian food and easy (and delicious). In total we were happy from the service (except their equipment warehouse-to get everything out of the country).

Offers to indicate each of the companies you are talking simultaneously with the other two.

Good luck! For me this amazing Trek, very different from any other Trek, and I wouldn't give it up even at the cost of several hundred dollars more.
