Ive never hiked the canadian rockies but i talked with people who hiked the great divide trail. its basicaly the continuation of the continental divide trail into canada. it goes about 1000 miles northof theborder (search the g.d.t. on the interenet).   you probebly dont want to hike the whole thing but only the southern section close to glacier park (which is part in the us and part in canada).    the main problems in canada compared to the u.s.. is first the remoteness -  only a handfull of roads cross the canadian rockies so logistics is real problematic.  thats why i would recomend pressurised gas cause you might not find it at all (most poeple mail themselfs canisters

white gast stoves can ;\use regular unleaded gas and alchol stoves can use antifreeze so that might be better

another problem in canada is permits.  the canadians are much more strict in most places about camping than the americans so you have to orgenize and pay for the permits in advance

also the grizzly bears which are common there are an issue. unlike the aplachian cute blach bears the grizlys are huge carnivores, though they arent as dangerous as you might think

anyway, check about the great divide trail and you might find about it. the peson i know who hiked it is trippinant, but i bet that like me hes hiking right now
