i'm on my way to the GR11 and i bought some of my equipment here in barcelona.

I wanted to recommend some good shops i encountered:

Cool Travelling books&maps store - http://www.altair.es/  (there was GR11 map kit but no english guide in stock)
 
Expensive but nice hiking store - http://www.balmat.es/ (this is where we bought a tent!)
 
Small Hiking maps stores - http://www.llibreriaquera.com/ (this is where we managed to buy GR11 map + guide book, but that was the last copy seen in stock!)
this is a very small and charming store in the middle of the touristic area.
 
North face - on the corner of Granvia and passig de Garcia (close to Zara need to go a bit north on Gran via) . expensive, but if you look for north face...

Decathalon -cheap and nice. you can find some nice clothing in good prices. don't expect to find good bags/tent/other stuff like that kind

and another Hiking store( a bit expensive and not as nice as Balmat!) are on Carrer Canuda in the city center jsut off of La Rambla nex tto Catalunya metro station.
