goose down hoods .האם ה"שקש בא אם הHOOD ? שאלה נוספת האם האופציה שבחרת מבין האופציות היא מספר 2 ? תודה .
Zipper Options:
Option 1) By default the sleeping bag will have a 3/4 length zipper on the bottom.
Option 2) Adjustable Straps. Instead of a zipper, 3 evenly spaced sets of loops can be added to secure the bottom with removable straps. This is not as convenient or as tight a closure as a zipper but it is a little lighter and the straps can be taken off entirely.
Option 3) Sewn Up. The bag can be sewn all the way up rather than have a closure system. You would get in and out through the top. If you sew up the bag you lose the versatility of opening it up when it is warm out, but it drops about .6 ounces (17 grams) of zipper weight.
Option 4) Side zipper with draft tube. Rather than have the zipper on the
bottom of the bag it can be moved to the side (like a normal sleeping bag).
A side zipper needs a draft tube sewn over the zipper to prevent cold air
from getting through. This adds about .8 oz (22 grams) of
weight and increases your chances of snagging the zipper on the draft tube,
but it is more convenient to zip. $20
Option 5) Separating side zipper to join two bags. This is just like option 4,
except with a 56" separating zipper to zip two sleeping bags together.
The separating zippers only have a pull tab on the outside, so you need to reach outside the bag to
unzip it (a minor inconvenience). Any two bags can be zipped together, for example a long and a
short as shown above. This option includes draft tubes over the zippers which adds about
.8 oz (22 grams) to each bag. One of the
zippers will be at the top center and the other at the bottom center when
zipped together. $20 each.
