The snow begins to melt heavily and the slopes in the sun are almost free up to 2000m (ex, climb to the Bertone refuge from the Val Sapin), where only the winter accumulations remain in the canals and the small valleys. The warm temperatures of recent days, in line with the typical conditions of May, should speed up the melting phenomenon. At the moment, however, the snow on the TMB route is still considerable, somewhat higher than the average of the period

מפסגה Pointe De Lapaz עד Le Brevent יש שדות שלג. לא רואים מסלול. הלכתי בישר ראיתי בחלק מהמקומות עקבות של מישהו. בסה"כ 3 קילומטר בשלג. אם לא הולכים קרוב לאיים של סלעים איפה שהשלג רך (כי סלעים מתחממים בשמש) לא נופלים. הכי עמוק שנפלתי - לגובה מותניים. שימו BASKETS על מקלות הליכה!!
מחר אמשיך עד Lac Blanc בע"ה

מטיילים הם עם מוזר. לוקחים כמה שיותר אוכל, הולכים רחוק שאפשר ואוכלים את הכל שם. |

Conditions June 8th

The conditions of the Tour du Mont Blanc are still quite difficult due to snow, frequent in altitude and shadow areas. Anyhow, but a pretty hot weekend is coming, which should help a quick improvement in the situation. However, it is still necessary to use good equipment (mountain boots, sticks and possibly crampons - light crampons) especially for reaching the highest hills (Bonhomme, Seigne, Ferret) that remain the most delicate spots.

The TMB conditions have improved much in the last few days due to the summer heat coming back.
On the French side we still find snow at the Col du Bonhomme but the track is well done and you can run it fairly easily. There are still snowfields at the Col de La Seigne but do not pose any major progression problems. On the Swiss side, there remains a small snowfield at Col de Balme where it is enough to follow the track to cross it without major risks. In the Bovine area the conditions are good, while along the variant of the Fenêtre d'Arpette we still find an important snowfield on the Arpette side, in the moraine area, where attention to snow bridges that can be fragile is needed. Finally, at the Grand Col Ferret the snow has not disappeared but the track is well formed.

Mild weather conditions with extremely high isotherms for these beginning of the week. Today's good weather and warmth will increase humidity, which from tomorrow will lead to the formation of afternoon cumulus that may give rise to thunderstorms.
The general conditions of the TMB route are now quite good, though some snowfields persist at the highest hills. It is therefore necessary to pay close attention when crossing the snowy slopes, especially in the morning when the surface is more compact and slippery.
Focus Italian sector: the bridges on the Arminaz stream (between Bertone and Bonatti huts) and between Chalet Val Ferret and the Elena refuge will be located between today and tomorrow
